I'm Crystal Jones, running for State House Rep for District 36.
​My family was priced out of my hometown of Kodiak by rising property taxes. We found a different way to live in Nelchina, an unorganized borough with no property taxes.
It gave us the freedom, peace, and security we'd always wanted.
I live in a tiny house I am slowly expanding into a bigger cabin by hand. I haul my own water, heat with wood, and I feel every spike in cost of living firsthand.
When temperatures drop to -40, I'm right there with you, figuring out how to keep the pipes from freezing and the heating costs from eating the whole paycheck.

I'm running because I want to protect rural Alaskan living, and build a better life for hardworking Alaskans.
